Welcome to the amputee / paralysis section of the Babblefish special needs area. We have put this section together to help folks that lost limbs or the use of limbs. We hope to add sites and links to help you deal with your injuries and get you back on your feet so to speak . Look around at the links below and find other folks with similar problems and goals.

Amputee Web Site - This multi-award winning WEB Site is designed primarily to help out amputees on a peer to peer basis. However, friends and families of amputees, doctors, prosthetics, teachers, PE instructors, physical therapists or anyone wanting to know more about amputation, will benefit from using this site.

Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) - is a national, non-profit amputee consumer educational organization representing people who have experienced amputation or are born with limb differences. The ACA includes individual amputees, amputee education and support groups for amputees, professionals, family members and friends of amputees, amputation or limb loss related agencies, and organizations.

Barr foundation- The purpose of the "FUND" is to purchase prosthetic limbs for amputees who cannot otherwise afford them.

The Limbless Association - provides information, advice and support for people of all ages who are without one or more limbs.

National Amputee Golf Association. - Incorporated in 1954, NAGA was comprised of a small group of amputee golfers who played friendly games that quickly developed into regional tournament play in various cities across the United States.

Limbs for Life - is a nationwide not-for-profit organization that has dedicated itself to the purpose of providing comfortable and fully-functional prosthetic care for individuals who cannot otherwise afford it.

New Beginnings Prosthetic Foundation - is a charitable non-profit organization that cares for the needs of those with limb loss and their families. Our main focus group is children; however, we also respond to the growing number of requests from young people who have fallen through the cracks of social and health systems.

The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) -promotes the health and well-being of people living with paralysis and their families by providing comprehensive information resources and referral services.

Find a PM&R Physician -a searchable database that allows you to locate a PM&R physician in your area. The search results are limited to AAPM&R members.

ClinicalTrials.gov - provides regularly updated information about federally and privately supported clinical research in human volunteers. ClinicalTrials.gov gives you information about a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, and phone numbers for more details. The information provided on ClinicalTrials.gov should be used in conjunction with advice from health care professionals
