Teaching certificate courses in English as a second/foreign language (TESL/TEFL)will be offered at De La Salle University-Manila starting late May 2006.
The programs are designed for graduates of four-year courses who wish to pursue careers in TESL/TEFL. Consider the following curriculum:

Rationale and Description
In recent years the demand for English language teachers here and abroad has increased to significant proportions. This phenomenon may be attributed to the ascendancy of English as an International Language (EIL), making competence in the language a required skill in professions not only in the Philippines but in the entire Asia-Pacific region as well. The demand for English teachers has underscored the need for relevant and intensive training in second language pedagogy. The Diploma in TESL/TEFL hopes to fill that need.
